    Haryana is one of the states in the country having least forest area in the country primarily due to the fact that it has almost 81% of its area under agriculture. With only 7.16 percent of its area under forest and tree cover, our prime endeavour at the Forest Department will be to preserve and to increase the forest and tree cover in the State, for conserving the bio-diversity for ecological sustainability and environmental services, through sustainable management of forests and plantations.
